Carers Trust is delighted to launch a new funding programme which will support unpaid carers living in Wales to access a short break from their caring role. Funded via support from the Welsh Government, the new programme called Amser is open to Third Sector organisations and is focussed on delivering a range of short break opportunities for unpaid carers from all communities across Wales during 2023/2024 and 2024/25.

The first round of Amser funding is open from 9 January and will close on 6 February to applications.

Carers Trust are looking to recruit a team of freelance independent assessors, who can help us review applications and make an informed and objective analysis of the information provided and produce a written report for the Grant Advisory Panel to review. This will be an interesting role and one which will be a central part of the grant decision making process.

Due to a short timescale for delivery of the first grants round, assessors will need to be available from 9 February until 6 March and have access to a computer and telephone. Full training will be provided along with support and payment of £75 per assessment.

Assessors should be prepared to take a minimum of 5 assessments, and potentially up to 15 assessments depending on your capacity.

A compulsory training session will be held online on Friday 3 February from 9.30-11.30am.

More information on the role can be found here For an informal discussion on the role please email Ellie, elogan@carers.org

To apply please email a letter of application stating how you meet the role description and a copy of your CV to shortbreakswales@carers.org

The deadline for applications is 10am on Thursday 26 January and informal interviews will be held on Tuesday 31 January.
